The International Union Against Cancer (UICC) is a non-profit, international, non-governmental organization governed in accordance with the Swiss Civil Code. As a non-profit organization devoted to the public interest, it has been exempted from income taxes by the Swiss tax authorities.
UICC's annual budget is supported by annual membership dues, royalties from publications, and grants and donations from cancer societies, foundations, government agencies, corporations and individuals.
The International Cancer Foundation has been established as a charitable foundation under Swiss law to provide financial support for UICC activities.
Governed by a board consisting of respected personalities from the public and private sectors as well as leaders from the field of oncology, the International Cancer Foundation is a bridge between two worlds, bringing together cancer professionals and concerned individuals and institutions from the wider community in the common struggle to prevent and control cancer.
