International Mobilization to Fight Against Childhood Cancer in Low- and Middle- Income Countries |

Geneva, Switzerland and Paris, France - July 1, 2009 –
Under the initiative of the International Union Against Cancer (UICC)
and sanofi-aventis, representatives from 21 countries have met in
Dakar, Senegal, on July 1 and 2, to review progress and strengthen
measures in the fight against cancer in low- and middle- income
countries, which began in 2004 through the “My Child Matters” program.

UICC is looking for a new CEO |
The International Union against Cancer is looking for a new Chief Executive Officer. Based in Geneva, Switzerland the CEO reports to the volunteer President
and to the Board. We want a strategic leader who will take the UICC and
the global cancer control effort to a new level through growth in
membership, funding, programs – and the biennial World Cancer Congress.

Geneva, 26 May 2009 – After 25 years with the UICC, including nine years as Executive Director, Isabel Mortara has announced that she will step down from her position in September 2009 to pursue other endeavours.
On behalf of the Board, UICC president, Dr David Hill, expressed his
deep appreciation for Isabel’s dedicated service and wide-reaching
contributions to global cancer control.

20th Anniversary for member in Peru |
The UICC would like to congratulate one of its Peruvian members, Oncosalud, on its 20th anniversary as an organization. Founded in 1989, Oncosalud is the first cancer treatment system in Peru. It provides health services specialized in cancer and offers unlimited and quality treatment to patients through a specially designed insurance system. Well done Oncosalud and keep up the great work in cancer control!
